Welcome to GlaceBayNow. By using our mobile application, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GlaceBayNow, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

GlaceBayNow is a community platform for Glace Bay, Nova Scotia that provides:

Local business directory and discovery
Business reviews and ratings
Community events calendar
Local news aggregation
Service request board for connecting residents with local contractors
Local weather information

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete information
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. User Content Guidelines

When posting reviews, service requests, or other content, you agree not to:

Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content
Harass, threaten, or defame others
Post spam, advertisements, or promotional material
Share illegal, obscene, or offensive content
Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Post content that infringes on intellectual property rights

5. Content Moderation

We reserve the right to:

Review and moderate user-submitted content
Remove content that violates these Terms
Suspend or terminate accounts for violations
Report illegal activity to appropriate authorities

6. Business Listings

Business information is provided for informational purposes. We do not guarantee the accuracy of business hours, contact information, or other details. Business owners may claim and manage their listings through our verification process.

7. Service Requests

The service request board connects residents with local contractors. GlaceBayNow is not responsible for:

The quality of work performed by contractors
Disputes between users and contractors
Payment or contract terms between parties
Verification of contractor credentials or licensing

Users are responsible for vetting contractors and agreeing to terms independently.

8. Intellectual Property

The GlaceBayNow app, including its design, features, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

GlaceBayNow is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GlaceBayNow (operated by 333254 Nova Scotia Limited) and its owners, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:

Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
Damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app
Content posted by other users
Actions of businesses or contractors found through the platform
Security breaches beyond our reasonable control

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GlaceBayNow, 333254 Nova Scotia Limited, and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Dispute Resolution:

Any dispute shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation
If unresolved within 30 days, disputes may be submitted to mediation in Nova Scotia
The courts of Nova Scotia shall have exclusive jurisdiction for any legal proceedings

Class Action Waiver: To the extent permitted by law, you agree to resolve disputes individually and waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits against GlaceBayNow or 333254 Nova Scotia Limited.
